Mitra Kotte was born in Vienna, Austria in 1995. She has won numerous prizes at national and international competitions in the categories piano solo and chamber music: MozARTe Aachen in Germany (2018), Benjamin-Prize 2017 of the Wolfgang Boesch Foundation, Zhuhai International Mozart Competition for Young Musicians, China (2015), Musica Juventutis (2014), International Competition for Young Pianists Ettlingen, Germany (2014). She was honored several times for her interpretation of classical works, like the “Haydn prize” at the International Competition for Young Pianists (Ettlingen 2014) or the "Förderpreis für junge Künstler-Stiftung Margaretha Schenk 2014" awarded by the Mozart Society Vienna. Already in her Young ages she received numerous prices and awards, amongst others at the International Rosario Marciano Piano Competition in Vienna, the International Competition Münchner Klavierpodium, Germany and the International Takács competition in Austria.

In 2022/23 season, she is the “Featured Artist” of Jeunesse- musik.erleben. Highlight of this achievement will be a performance of R. Schumann Piano Concerto in a minor, op. 54 with the Wiener Jeunesse Orchestra at the Musikverein Vienna. Aditionally, she will have her debut at the Brucknerhaus Linz. Last season she performed L. v. Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 3 with Webern Kammerphilharmonie at the Wiener Konzerthaus and at the Festival Ljubljana and OÖ Stiftskonzerte. In 2015/16, she had her solo-debut with a piano recital at the Wiener Musikverein and at the Liszt Festival Raiding. Moreover, she has played for the International Chopin Society, the Beethoven Society Vienna and the Cziffra-Stiftung. Furthermore, she has given solo and chamber music concerts in various countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and in the United States. She has also played with the Tehran Symphony Orchestra (S. Rachmaninov, 2nd piano concerto), the Dohnányi Sinfonie Orchestra (W. A. Mozart Piano Concerto in c minor, KV 491), the Junge Philharmonie Wien (W.A. Mozart, piano concerto in d-minor KV 466) and the Salzburg Chamber Soloists (W.A. Mozart, piano concerto in E flat major KV 271).

Mitra Kotte received her first piano lesson at the age of four. Soon she was accepted at "Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien" in the “Programme for gifted children and young talents”. At this university, she studied piano performance with Martin Hughes. During the academic year 2017/2018 she was a student of Daejin Kim at the Korea National University of Arts in Seoul. Currently, she studies Master Chamber Music with Stefan Mendl.

Mitra Kotte has had the opportunity to get valuable impulses at numerous master classes with great musicians such as Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, Milana Chernyavska, Christopher Hinterhuber, Pavel Gililov, Oleg Maisenberg, Bernd Goetzke, Elisso Virsaladze, Jura Margulis, Robert Levin, Ya-Fei- Chuang, Paul Badura-Skoda, Jacques Rouvier, Matti Raekallio and Dominique Merlet.
